big wigs

That's what my mom calls anybody she knows of that has an important job-or is of an important social circle. I ask her to elaborate on the actual position of the person and she just says "Oh, he's some big wig" - "he has some big wig job" - "he's a big wig at this company"--- I ask her "What the hell is a big wig??" She never knows exactly what they do...all she knows is that it's a big wig thing...
I get a good laugh on it all the time...
